PUBLIC NOTICE: ANNUAL REPORTING OF THE PRESENCE OF WILD ANIMALS

PUBLIC NOTICE

Chapter 680 of the Laws of 2002 enacted General Municipal Law §209-cc, requiring the ANNUAL REPORTING OF THE PRESENCE OF WILD ANIMALS. Pursuant to this law, every person in New York State who owns, possesses or harbors a wild animal as set forth in §209-cc must report annually its presence on or before April 1st, of each year with the Town Clerk where the animal is kept. A list of the common names of animals to be reported is available at the Town Clerk’s Office. Failure to file as required will subject you to penalties under the law.
